Attention Students!
Puppy Preschool in Session!

Puppy Preschool:

Picture
From our experience in breeding horses and alpacas, we have learned the importance of handling and giving early stimulation to our young animals.  We spend an enormous amount of time preparing our puppies for life in a family.  We call it Puppy Preschool.

Music City Goldendoodle puppies learn dog/human relationships from several MCG family pets as we all "do life" together.  They are introduced to numerous sights, sounds, smells, and feelings.    Through various techniques, we expose the puppies to common "scary" sounds.   The vacuum is run with the pups and mama in the room.    Once they get older, their temperature-controlled garage pens put them in close contact with power tools, clanging, banging, and other garage/workshop noises.  Frequent outside playtime exposes them to lawnmowers, bicycles and scooters.  Not only are they exposed to these situations, but they are in the midst of calm adult dogs who teach them that there is nothing about which to worry.

Puppy Preschool helps create a well-balanced foundation for maturity and growth.   To prepare them for the job of fulltime family companion, we use several techniques including:

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (starting at 3 days old)
  • Rules of Seven
  • Daily interaction with kids
  • Basic Commands
  • Puppies’ feet, ears, and mouth are handled almost daily to prepare for grooming and veterinary care.
  • We teach the puppies “Go Potty” to prepare the pups for easy housetraining.
  • Puppy play areas have open crates filled with blankets and stuffed toys so crate training is easy.
