What is a Guardian Home?
Guardian families are how we can grow our breeding program and still keep all our dogs as family pets. I like to say that they are full-time pets and work part-time for MCG.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost to the Guardian Family. MCG chooses the pup and places him/her free of charge with the guardian family. All breeding costs (vet costs and transportation related to breeding) are paid by MCG, all "pet" costs (vaccinations, food, etc) are paid by the family. MCG retains ownership of the puppy/dog until he/she retires.
Will the dog live with me?
Yes, unless we need the dog for breeding purposes. For a male this might be a couple hours or a couple days, 2-5 times a year. For a female, she comes to our home to whelp and raise her puppies once a year for 5-7 weeks.

What is required of the Guardian home?
- Proximity - We prefer our Guardian homes to be within 30 miles of Brentwood, TN. Occasionally we may make exceptions, but it's easier on everyone if you are close by.
- We need our Guardian homes to be "planted" in the middle Tennessee area for the next 7 years.
- We need our Guardian homes to be able to provide for a dog financially, mentally, physically and emotionally. This includes supplying a quality food, vet care, grooming costs, obedience training, physical stimulation/exercise, and mental and emotional stability. Basically everything needed to be a great pet parent to any animal.
- We need our Guardian homes to be available and flexible because breeding doesn't always go according to schedule.
- Most importantly, we need our guardian homes to commit to give our pup the best possible life they can have!
