Donna and Jerry are the pets of Melody and Truffles.Donna and Jerry have 4 kids, 15 grandkids and 4 great-grandchildren. God brought Donna and Jerry together on a blind date in 1969. Originally from Michigan, they had a house there for years. Jerry used to tease by telling people that "my first wife lives in Michigan". God has blessed Jerry and Donna with 55 yrs of marriage and they are still going strong.
Donna fell in love with Golden Retrievers as a child when the neighbors dog would come and watch her and her sister play in their front yard. From that point she had always wanted a Golden but Jerry never wanted a dog that big or with that much shedding. It wasn't until Amanda introduced them to Goldendoodles that her dream became a reality with Lindy, MCG's first goldendoodle. After Lindy came Penny, Truffles, and Melody and the love affair with goldendoodles continues.
Our very first litter was born on March 8, 2009 at Donna & Jerry's house from our first goldendoodles, Lindy and Charlie. That first litter was supposed to be a "one and only" but God had other plans. Donna started attending conferences and training sessions, educating herself on proper "midwoofery", learning about whelping techniques, puppy intensive care, etc, etc. As Donna became the expert, she passed the knowledge along to her daughters, Jennifer and Amanda. Jerry, meanwhile, set the standard for MCG photography with his gorgeous puppy photos. Jerry has retired from most of the puppy pics but his talent is an inspiration for "the girls" (Amanda and Jennifer).
SInce Donna & Jerry's kids are grown and on their own, their goldendoodles now enjoy lives of love and adventure!
Jennifer ( the Oldest Daughter )
Jennifer and Andrew have been Married for 31 yrs. In a stroke of irony, God also brought Andrew and Jennifer together on a blind date at a Campus Crusade Spring Formal in Cookeville, Tn. They are parents to 4 grown children and are now enjoying life with their 4 grandchildren. Their firstborn grandson, David, is their "third musketeer" and Jennifer's helper in all things puppy.
Jennifer & Andrew's first dog was Cody, a golden retriever mix from the Williamson Animal Shelter. Cody was their "perfect dog", except for all the shedding. Cody was 15 years old when the first MCG litter was born. Jennifer asked Lindy (Donna & Jerry's goldendoodle mama) for 1 chocolate pup, and out of a litter of 10, there was 1 chocolate pup. That chocolate pup because Webster and from that time on, Jennifer was enthralled with goldendoodles of unusual colors and marking.
Jennifer is the genetics "specialist" (not an expert but knows at least a little!) and has helped MCG breed for coat consistency, low shedding, and pairing mama and papa dogs for the desired colors and markings. She has been raising puppies at her house since 2015. Tessa, Walker and Sheba are the personal pets of the Tramell family.
Amanda (Youngest Daughter)
Amanda and David have 4 children Connor, Samantha, Adelaide and Gavin. They are affectionately kept in line by Zoey and Oakley. God used swing dancing to bring Amanda and David together, and every once in a while, these two will get out the dancing shoes and shine! They have an amazing presence on the dance floor and have been married for 18 yrs.
Amanda fell in love with golden Retrievers because of Jennifers Dog Cody. As a rescue Cody was everything that Amanda wanted in a dog. He was faithful, loving, gentle with kids and everything except he shed, everywhere and David told her no shedding dogs in the house. Then she remembered the Cockapoo that she grew up with, if they did it with Cocker Spaniels, why not with Goldens Retrevers....By God's Grace she found Charleston and Music City Goldendoodles was born.
Amanda is the "life" and pretty much the face of Music City Goldendoodles. Her FB and Instagram posts are often how people get to know us. Honestly, Amanda is just more fun than the rest of us and you can see it in her videos and photos. Her 4 kids have been around puppies their entire lives and are integral parts of MCG. Amanda had the first ever goldendoodle with Charleston so we blame her for 16 yrs and counting of goldendoodle love!!
